【Hawaii School Trip – Exploration Activities & Learning about Peace】

Aloha!
Today, we started our day at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Unfortunately, one of our students wasn’t feeling well, so she wasn’t able to join today’s program.

To break the ice, Hawaiian students taught us a Hawaiian-style version of rock-paper-scissors. It looked like a lot of fun!
After that, our students gave a presentation on exploration activities to the Hawaiian students, who praised them for all their hard work.

Our students also answered some questions and took a campus tour, communicating with local students for the first time.

In the afternoon, we visited the Battleship Missouri Memorial, where our students learned about the history of WWII.
This evening, we enjoyed Chinese food together.

Aloha!
We gave a presentation to university and high school students in Hawaii. I was really nervous at first, but they were so kind that I soon felt at ease. After the presentation, they gave me some helpful advice.
They suggested I focus more on the experiment and results rather than the background information. They also gave me tips on how to improve my presentation skills.
It was a really valuable experience for me.

Today, I presented my research to a student from the University of Hawai’i and a student from Pearl City High School. My group was No.6, and our leader was Kevin, who listened to our presentation attentively. After all of us finished our presentations, he showed us around the University of Hawai’i. It’s so spacious, and there was even a garden that reminded me of Japan.
Through this program, I was able to chat with people in English, and this experience really boosted my confidence in my English skills.

【ハワイ修学旅行 – 探究活動と平和学習】

アロハ！
今日はハワイ大学マノア校から一日をスタートしました。
残念ながら、体調が優れない生徒が一人いたため、今日のプログラムには参加できませんでした。

アイスブレイクとして、ハワイの学生たちがハワイ風のじゃんけんを教えてくれました。とても楽しそうでした！
その後、私たちの生徒たちが探究活動のプレゼンテーションを行い、ハワイの学生たちからその努力を称賛されました。

生徒たちはいくつかの質問にも答え、キャンパスツアーに参加して、地元の学生たちと初めての交流をしました。

午後には、ミズーリ戦艦記念館を訪れ、第二次世界大戦の歴史について学びました。
今夜はみんなで中華料理を楽しみました。

アロハ！
ハワイの大学生や高校生にプレゼンテーションをしました。最初はとても緊張しましたが、彼らがとても親切だったので、すぐにリラックスできました。
プレゼンテーションの後、役立つアドバイスももらいました。
背景情報よりも実験や結果に焦点を当てるようにした方が良いという提案や、プレゼンのスキル向上のためのヒントもいただきました。
とても貴重な経験でした。

今日はハワイ大学の学生とパールシティ高校の学生に研究発表をしました。私たちのグループは6班で、リーダーはケビンという学生でした。彼は私たちの発表をしっかりと聞いてくれました。発表が終わった後、彼はハワイ大学のキャンパスを案内してくれました。とても広々としていて、日本を思わせる庭もありました。
このプログラムを通じて、英語で人と会話することができ、自分の英語力に自信がつきました。
